Sewing Machine Repair for the Home Sewer by Reuben O. Doyle {Review & Giveaway}
I like to think that I can sew. I like to think I know what I’m doing. Honestly, I do not. I try, but get so frustrated with my machine. I never took a class or anything like that. I am self-taught. If something goes wrong, I have no idea what to even look at. I call friends and family that do sew to see if they have ideas and normally at that point the machine gets put away for another few months.

Truffula Tree (Lorax Movie) Pencils {Tutorial}
The Lorax is coming to movie theaters soon. My kids are obsessed with the movie. It is truly in Dr. Seuss style. The coloring, the animation the whimsical feeling of the entire movie. You look at a picture and just KNOW it is Seuss. I wanted to capture that whimsical feeling with some pencils for my kids to do their homework with. They are talking about Dr. Seuss a lot in school right now because March 2 is his birthday and is Read Across America Day.
These pencils are super easy to make and a lot of fun!

This non-profit Foundation puts forward all its resources into education and active involvement of people like you and I in the conservation of the Rainforest. It does it with workshops, trips to the Peruvian Amazon, connecting educational institutions with each other, and supporting indiginous people.
Do we really care if the Rainforest vanishes from the face of the Earth? You bet. And you’d better be proactive NOW. If all of the Rainforest goes away, we will be experiencing one of those cataclizms like in a horrific movie.

Gorgeous Orlando for inspiration and relaxation

Being in New Mexico, I see a lot of brown. There is dirt, and cactus and everything is dry. I can’t wait to head to Orlando in May for the SheCon conference that I am speaking at. Orlando Florida is full of green and pretty trees, flowers and is amazing. I know that visiting such a gorgeous state will give me a much needed break, some inspiration and the relaxation that I have needed for quite some time.
Dr Seuss crafts – Read Across America Day {Pinterest Love}
In just a few days it will be “Read Across America“…which coincides with Dr. Suess birthday…..March 2! I wanted to share some fun crafts that could be created with your children to help them show their love of Dr. Suess and all of the fun characters we have come to love.
Are you violating copyright by using Pinterest?
I will be the first to admit, I LOVE Pinterest. It is an addiction that has gotten to many, many people. You go to Pinterest just for a few minutes and then realize you’ve been looking at pins for hours. Ugh. Where did the time go? You know what I’m talking about! Pinterest allows you to pin items that you find interesting, want to make, like, love or just make you laugh. You can “pin” anything you want, as long as there is a picture available to pin. It is basically a visual bookmarking system. It works out wonderful for all those things you’ve bookmarked then forget about because the title it saved as doesn’t remind you what it is really about it. With Pinterest you can see what you have “bookmarked” or “pinned” and visually know which pattern, recipe or outfit you wanted to save for later.
Lately there has been controversy about Pinterest, and if you are actually violating copyright when pinning items. Each article that I’ve read seems to have a different opinion on the topic.
